EUROTHREAD LIFT

EuroThreads are FDA-approved, resorbable surgical sutures that are strategically placed underneath the skin to tighten, smooth and contour the face and neck. The treatment is minimally invasive and produces immediate results that continue to improve over time. Often called a thread or “lunchtime lift,”, it’s an excellent option for patients with mild-tomoderate skin laxity that are unable or unwilling to undergo a surgical facelift with general anesthesia, increased risks, and a longer recovery!

How does the eurothread lift procedure work?

Eurothreads are dissolvable threads that are placed under the skin to achieve lifting of the cheeks, the jowls and the neckbands. These threads are comprised of polydioxanone (PDO), the same material that has been used for surgical procedures for 30 years. Eurothreads promote skin rejuvenation on two fronts: first, providing a physical mechanism for skin lifting, and second, stimulating the natural production of collagen to thicken and smooth the skin, reduce wrinkles, fine lines and other imperfections! (collagen stimulation continues for about 8 months after the procedure)

What is the recovery like?

This varies among individuals, but the EuroThread Lift generally requires some downtime. Swelling, soreness, and minor bruising is common following the procedure.

What are areas can be treated?

EuroThreads have demonstrated benefits in all areas of the face and neck. The most dramatic improvement typically is achieved in the lower third of the face and neck by lifting sagging cheeks and jowls to create smoother, more youthful-looking contours. This area has traditionally been considered to be a difficult area to lift and volumize with just dermal filler injections, therefore, Eurothreads have emerged as a particularly exciting treatment option.

Can EuroThreads be used with neurotoxins like BOTOX and dermal fillers?

Yes, there are no contraindications that prevent the use of neurotoxins and fillers with EuroThreads. Both neurotoxins and fillers take some time to produce the desired result so this could change or negatively augment any threading results. It is recommended to let the neurotoxins and filler set in before inserting EuroThreads. This will ensure that the patient has the best opportunity to get the maximum effects from both treatments.

How long does the procedure take?

The duration of the EuroThread Lift varies, depending on the areas to be treated. The procedure can take as little as 15 minutes, while more complex procedures may take up to an hour or longer. The treatment is minimally invasive and produces instant results. Polydioxanone (PDO) sutures are used for biomedical applications, particularly in cardiothoracic surgery because it is fully absorbed by hydrolysis within 4 to 6 months and doesn’t create any scar tissue. The foreign body stimulates collagen synthesis and the skin structure created will hold for 12 to 15 months
