Cosmetic Lasers at Skin Savvy | The Complete Guide

Cooler weather and decreased sun exposure welcome an exciting time in the world of aesthetics: the laser season! Here at Skin Savvy, we offer a variety of state of the art laser treatments that address skin concerns related to hyperpigmentation, texture and skin revitalization and are accessible to all skin types! Today we're breaking down our 3 most popular laser treatments to help you determine which treatment will be the best for you!

Every once in awhile a treatment is introduced that takes us one step closer to the fountain of youth and the Photo-Facial is a big step in that direction! Photo Rejuvenation uses concentrated light to selectively target deep into the dermis without injuring the surface of the skin and is one of the most advanced techniques available today to slow down, treat and reverse damaged and aged facial and non-facial skin. It improves a range of cosmetic concerns including hyper-pigmentation, sun damage, broken capillaries and diffused redness in the skin all while stimulating collagen. This treatment has the added benefit of providing an overall "rejuvenated" effect to the skin and because the surface layers of the skin remain intact there is minimal downtime and less risk and discomfort than more invasive lasers. Photofacial may be used for these changes on the hands, neck and chest as well. It is safe, non-invasive and is tailored to the individual patient’s skin.

It is impossible to stop the aging process however, it is possible to delay it with MLP treatments! The MicroLaserPeel uses the power of heat and light in a targeted beam to remove and resurface the skin to diminish signs of aging (fine lines & wrinkles), sun damage, post-acne scarring, keratoses and pigmentary problems, along with improving the overall tone of the skin! A Micro Laser Peel safely removes a layer of skin to a depth determined by your technician. The depth of treatment will depend on the skin condition, your desired outcome and expectation for downtime. Because this treatment can affect tissue with micron precision, your skin can be treated with the exact amount of energy needed – no more, no less! Treating the skin with a laser stimulates the growth of new collagen, which will improve skin’s thickness and resilience. The skin surface will also re-grow with fresh, healthy cells, which will give your skin a younger rejuvenated appearance!

Enlighten PICO Genesis™ introduces an entirely new approach to non-invasively get rid of pigmented lesions (melasma, hyperpigmentation, sun spots) and add skin revitalization for all skin types without any downtime, and little to no discomfort! PICO Genesis™ is a great option for those with sensitive skin, and also those who can’t take time off work, are in sports, or in the public eye. This method combines the benefits of two highly effective wavelengths in ultra-short pulses to cause an intense, non-thermal, photo mechanical disruption and remodeling of the upper dermis.

Since pigment particles are very small and dense, they are often difficult to remove. They are also problematic when damaged by heat, which is why high-intensity lasers are often not optimal treatments for pigmentation issues such as melasma. The PICO Genesis laser procedure uses a non-thermal laser that doesn’t cause damage to the surrounding tissue. It destroys the pigment, leaving your skin clearer and giving you a more even, uniform complexion.
